A raised floor (also raised flooring, access flooring, or raised access computer floor) provides an elevated structural floor above a solid substrate (often a concrete slab) to create a hidden void for the passage of mechanical and electrical services.
Floor Heights
Raised Floors typically need to be able to create a void as this is their primary purpose. Raised Access Flooring Systems can go to 50mm system height and with sufficient bracing to 2 metres or more although this is not common. Offices are typically 100mm to 250mm raised floor system height and computer room access flooring typically have 250mm to 900mm raised floor system height.
